I have permanent residency in Mexico, but Panama would be the other place I’d consider, then Uruguay.

All 3 great choices for a Plan B!

And I finally make my move to Mexico in November!

Nice, where in Mexico?

Excellent article! I have permanent residency in Panamá currently. I like Mexico and Uruguay as options to obtain an additional residencies.

Thanks Jean, appreciate it! Those are some good options that you are looking at.

Appreciate this. I just got a digital residency to an island in Oceania.

Panama Pensionado! Will qualify in 3.5 years. Hopefully, I can last that long in the US… it’s nuts here.

Great choice! One of my favorite residency options.

Nice write-up! I would do both Uruguay as a Plan B because of its strong LGBTQ rights and Panama as a Plan C backup, because of its more central location to Europe and Asia.

Always good to have more than one residency in your pocket!

Thank you for writing this. It is very helpful. I was also thinking of Tanzania but it’s government is more autocratic than the US so why move there. I am now looking at Australia. The points pathway ends at age 45. This would be a retirement move. But I have more to explore here on the hows. Is Australia in your pervue?

Thanks for what you write!

Very welcome! I'm not a big fan of Australia for several reasons, having said that the lifestyle aspect is amazing. It all depends on what you want to optimize for in retirement. If you want to explore other options, feel free to send me a mail to ben@clubcitizen.co.
