The Move Is Coming

Maybe in a few months.

Maybe in a few years.

But every time you sit down to plan it, your list gets longer:

  • Country leads to visa.

  • Visa leads to taxes.

  • Taxes leads to banking.

  • Banking leads to healthcare.

  • Healthcare leads back to which country.

I talk to Americans over 50 every week who are stuck in this loop.

The same problems come up on almost every call:

  • “I’m overwhelmed by everything I need to figure out.”

  • “I’ve been planning this for years and I’m still not there.”

  • “I don’t know how to move my money outside the US.”

  • “I’m afraid of making an expensive mistake with my visa or taxes.”

  • “I have no idea how healthcare works outside the US.”

If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.

I recorded a 20-minute training, covering the exact system I use, to get clarity about your move. Watch it here.

Why This Is So Hard

More research won’t fix this.

The information is out there.

There are thousands of blog posts, YouTube channels, and Facebook groups about retiring abroad.

The problem is that none of it connects.

  • A visa lawyer who only knows one country.

  • A financial planner who’s never heard of PFIC rules.

  • A tax advisor who doesn’t understand expat banking.

Three professionals, three invoices, and still no plan. The gaps between your advisors are where the expensive mistakes happen.

Meanwhile, every month you spend researching is a month you could be living abroad.

Who I Am

I’m Ben.

I’ve lived long-term in seven countries and hold five active residencies.

(Some might call collecting residencies my “weird little habit”).

I’ve opened bank accounts in several jurisdictions and have my money and investments spread over many countries.

I’ve dealt with foreign tax authorities, healthcare systems, visa renewals, and the bureaucratic nonsense that comes with all of it.

I didn’t learn this from a course.

I learned it by doing it wrong first, then doing it right, over 15 years.

I built Digital Citizen because nobody was telling the truth about this stuff.

Not the YouTube channels selling a fantasy.

Not the $50,000 concierge firms built for crypto millionaires.

And not the immigration lawyers who only know one country and charge by the hour.

What Digital Citizen Is

Digital Citizen is for one group of people:

Americans over 50 planning to retire abroad in the next 5 years.

The newsletter covers visas, taxes, banking, and healthcare. Specific enough to act on. Written for people with real assets and a real timeline.

On the consulting side, I take everything I know and apply it to your situation. Country, visa, banking, healthcare, all built together in six weeks.

Everything I do comes back to one idea:

Move somewhere worth waking up to.

Because life is short, and you should not spend it in a place that does not fit you.
