New Visas
Bulgaria approved a digital nomad residence permit on June 19. It grants a twelve month stay and can be renewed once. Full deep-dive coming this August.
Kenya opened its Class N remote work permit. Applications now upload through the eFNS portal. Valid one year, renewable once.
Philippines moved from law to practice. The foreign office can now issue the new digital nomad visa after Executive Order 86.
Rule Changes
United Kingdom raises Skilled Worker pay bands on July 22. The general threshold moves to £41 .700 a year.
Portugal increased national visa fees on July 1. A D category visa now costs €110 plus service charges.
Croatia keeps the digital nomad income at €3.295 a month but adds ten percent for each dependent.
Travel Access Changes
Kenya removed visa requirements for all African and most Caribbean passports on July 14.
Japan granted short stay visa free entry to holders of Peruvian e‑passports from July 1.
European Union simplified multi entry Schengen visas for Turkish citizens. Repeat applicants now graduate from six months to five years. Rules took effect July 15.
Citizenship And Investment News
Malta signalled the end of its direct investment passport. Lawmakers propose a merit based route that rewards innovation and philanthropy instead.
Thailand is discussing a one million dollar golden visa that includes property rights. Still a proposal but worth watching.
