Where Can I Go With My Passport?
I have spent the past months writing about visas, residencies, and how to live more freely across borders. And I have been thinking and scheming about it for years.
Some questions came up more than others.
People asked me:
Where can I go with my passport?
What visas can I get and how long are they good for?
How much money do I need?
Since it is easier than ever to build things quickly, I built something simple (and free) to help.
The Digital Citizen App.
You enter your passport and income. The tool shows you where you can live, work, or stay long-term.
The key-word being “long-term”.
I’m deliberately filtering for longer term visa options, such as:
Golden Visas
Digital Nomad Visas
Residence Programs
Etc.
So don’t be alarmed, if you’re not seeing as many countries as you expect, there are more countries you can enter on a simple tourist visa. The tool is focused on longer-term options.
The process is simple.
First you select your passport (for the MVP, we have 8 to choose from):
Then you select your available budget.
After that, other shows you, which residency programs are available for you (at the moment, the database is limited to 74 programs).
That’s it. Plain and simple.
You can then filter for specific countries within your results (like Asia, Europe etc.).
If a country appeals to you, you can save it for later, and it will appear in your list (which you can then export).
There is no login and no need for your mail address, you can simply use it for free.
Why I built it
There are tools like this out there already. But most of them overwhelm me, or don’t give me the long-term program I was looking for.
I just wanted to have a quick overview of possible countries, and then do my own research.
I wanted a tool that is fast, clean, and useful.
What it gives you
The app gives you a list of countries with:
Long-stay visa options (like digital nomad visas or residency permits)
Clear income requirements (if there are any)
Key benefits (e.g. tax rules, cost of living, remote work rules)
A direct link to the official application or government site
Disclaimer
I have done my best to make sure the information in this tool is accurate.
I cross-checked every entry, updated dozens of sources, and triple-checked the details.
But visa rules change often, and it is hard to catch everything (also, I might or might not oversaw some things or made mistakes).
If you spot something that is wrong, I really appreciate a heads-up. I will fix it as fast as I can.
Also, there are only 8 passports to choose from at the moment. But more will come, if the tools turns out to be useful.

If You Want To Help Me
You can do 2 things to help me.
1 - Give me feedback on the site, using the cat feedback button
2 - Let me know, which other features you would like to see
I was thinking about things like:
Weather preferences (“I want sun!”)
Safety index of the country (“Can I walk alone as a woman at night?”)
Closeness to country with family members (“I can’t be more than 2h flight time from my parents!”)
Timezone difference towards clients (“I need to be able to serve US clients during daytime!”)
and many more …
