What Digital Citizen Is All About
Digital Citizen is about building
A real life.
Across borders.
With a clear plan.
Most people think they must live where they were born. That is not true. The world is large.
If you are not happy where you are, you can find a country that values you.
But…
You need a real world picture of what to expect in other countries and legal systems.
You have seen the Bali reels. They skip the hard parts. Insane traffic. High costs in some areas. Annoying paperwork. Health cover. Banking.
The stuff that decides if your move works.
I will tell the truth about moving abroad.
I show what it takes. Visas. Taxes. Healthcare. Education. Banking. Daily life.
If something works great, I will mention how great it is. If something sucks, I will also mention it.
This way, you can make a smart choice and move with confidence.
Moving abroad can be one of the best decisions of your life. It is also one of the most important.
Plan it with care.
Why Listen To Me?
I grew up in Germany.
I left Germany after high school in 2008, and stayed in Australia until 2010.
Then, I studied abroad in the UK and Spain until 2013.
I worked in China while studying in 2014.
2020, I left Germany permanently and immigrated to Cyprus.
After a year in Cyprus, immigrated to the UAE in 2021.
I created companies in both places (I already created guides on how you can do the same).
Also, I hold two e-residencies (Palau and Estonia) and created a company in Estonia.
I left the UAE for Thailand in 2022, where I now hold a long-term visa.
I opened a company in Bangkok (my first “non-digital” company). We opened a Chinese tea franchise in the biggest shopping mall in Bangkok.
I total, I have lived long-term in 8 countries, visited around 50, and hold 6 residencies around the world.
During this time, I opened numerous companies (same failed some succeeded).
I’m not writing this to show off.
I want to explain that I know what I am talking about, when it comes to visas, taxes and moving abroad.
This is not theory. I built it step by step and share what works.
My Focus
Big decisions get easier when you are well informed.
Being informed means more than picking a place. You need to know what you are signing up for.
My focus is reflected by the categories I chose for my newsletter.
Visas
This covers how to get legal status. Short and long term visas, residency, and paths to citizenship. You get steps, timelines, fees, renewal rules, and what rights you have. Clear, real world guidance so you file the right thing at the right time.
Tax
This covers tax residency and simple structures that work. We explain the tests, reporting rules, and common traps. You see clean order of operations and example setups. The goal is to stay compliant and keep more of your money.
Countries
This helps you choose a country that fits your life. We compare safety, costs, healthcare, schools, banking, and community. You get trade offs, real numbers, and a clear recommendation. The aim is a choice you will be happy with for years.
Essentials
This is the toolkit. Guides, checklists, and templates you can use. Visa finder, core resources, gear and book picks. Insights from real moves, with app updates and rule changes so you are not caught off guard.
If this speaks to you, I am happy to have you here.

The Club Citizen App
I built a free app to help you compare countries.
See safety and peace ratings, save full profiles, and export them for side by side reviews.
Below some info what it contains exactly.
Important
You do not need a new passport to start.
For many people a visa or residency is enough for years.
It lets you live legally, open bank accounts, sign leases, and build stability.
You can look at citizenship later if it truly helps.
